FAQ

Q: How do I know if my roof system is failing and needs to be inspected, repaired, or replaced?
On tiled roofs:
  • Complete horizontal or vertical breaks.
  • Broken corners above the 2 1/4-inch overlap.
  • Broken water channels extending past the 2 1/4-inch overlap.
  • Cover locks with less than the 2 1/4-inch overlap may be repaired with the proper roof tile adhesive. Care must be taken with the adhesive to not block the water channel.
  • If the small cover lock piece is not available, then aesthetic consideration takes precedence over functional consideration. On low slope roofs the missing piece may not be as noticeable as on a steeply sloped roof. If the corner piece is not available, aesthetics become a factor that must be considered. In all cases, if the missing chip affects the weather integrity of the roof it should be replaced.
On composition roofs:
  • Missing, cracked or curling shingles
  • Shingles found on ground after a heavy rain or wind
  • Sheathing rafter tail or siding dry rot
  • Leakage in attic after heavy rains
  • Stains on interior walls or ceilings
  • High energy bills

Q: How long does it take to complete a new roof?
On average it takes three to five days to complete a residential roof. There are exceptions to this rule. Such as, roofs that are larger than average, in need of extensive structural repairs, roofs where we are installing specialty materials, and roofs with a lot of detail on high pitched roofs will of course require more time to complete.

We come to each job site with the man power, knowledge, skill, and equipment to complete the job in a timely manner. However we will never jeopardize our quality craftsmanship, to hurry a job along, to meet a deadline.
